Good start in 1st race of the Worlds
Today, the Worlds in Curacao finally got underway. We had a great race in quite strong breeze. Since the race committee were able to move the course futher out, it gave both a challenging and fair race for everyone. We had a decent but not great start and rounded the mark in 5th position.
From then on we were able to work our way up through the fleet and eventually finished 2nd behind a german boat with Marcus Wieser as helsman. He is a very good sailor but new to the class and with such a good premiere, he will be one of the opponents to look out for in the remaining part of the regatta.
Two races are planned for tomorrow and in total 8 for the championship. The conditions have been stable with good breeze so far, so it looks likely we will be able to get all the races in.
Keep your fingers crossed for tomorrow.
