With opening ceremony done, World Championship racing started today in Nynäshamn.

Racing started today in the 5.5 World Championships. Team Baghdad were happy to see that the last few days pattern of very light winds were broken. Once on the racing course outside Nynäshamn in Sweden, the fleet were welcomed by 8-12 knots of breeze and some chop.

Having these great conditions, Team Baghdad felt right at home and posted two great bullets. Even though the team did not lead from the start, they were still able to work their way up to the fleet and ended up with a quite comfortable wins. Even though it could not have started better, there are still a long way to go before the regatta concludes.

Racing continues tomorrow, probably again with two races. The program says 8 races for 5 days but with the possible strong wind on either thursday or friday, the organizers are happy to get ahead of the racing schedule.
