Worlds finish with a silver lining

On the last day of racing in the 5.5 metre Worlds, the wind once again played games with us. The wind was either too variable or non-existent to really make a race possible. The Race Committee made a feeble attempt to get a race in time before the last possible starting time but a big windshift turning the first downwind to a beam-reaching parade, they RC had no other option than abandoning the race.

That made the Championships a 5-race affair with no discard allowed. We sailed a good series with 2-2-5-1-15 but unfortunately lost the Gold with a terrible place in the 5th race, just one single point behind Marazzi/Gustavsson/Burger on Ali Baba. He sailed a very even series 6-6-3-3-6. Bronze went to Gavin McKinney and his crew Lars Horn-Johannesen and Thomas Hallberg.
