Just recently in Italian Scarlino, team member Johan Barne clinched the TP52 World Championship title with German boat “Platoon”. That brings the number of Worlds titles up to 9 for the Swedish tactician and navigator. Johan also won the TP52 Worlds in 2009 in Palma de Mallorca with Argentinian boat “Matador”.

– It sure was a nice win and we’re really happy with both our performance and result, says Johan. Our development has been really good recently and I must say it’s a bit surprising that we now also leads the 52superseries as everyone else in the series are so good and tries equally hard as we do, says the swede wrapping up the impressions from the Worlds.

Johan says it would have been great to have had the possibility to add the CV with a win at the coming 5.5 meter Worlds with Kristian and Trind in Artemis as well. However, other commitments (at the Maxi Worlds) prevent that to happen.

– We will just have to have a bit of patience. Hopefully the schedule works out for the Worlds in 2018 and that we can try then, concludes Johan.
